CULTURE BUILDS US

Australia's built environment celebrates cultural diversity, equity and inclusion — and invites every organisation to be part of it.

From 15–22 March 2027, Australia's built environment comes together to celebrate the cultures that build our cities, and to commit to diversity, equity and inclusion in workplaces where culturally diverse professionals belong and lead. You don't need to be a MAPP member. You don't need a budget. This is your open invitation to join in, from a single social post to a table at the Gala Dinner and more.

The theme: Culture Builds Us

Three words, three layers of meaning.

Culture, first

Putting culture front and centre ties the week directly to what we're celebrating.

Builds - our word

We build for a living. And culture builds us: our people, our teams and our industry.

Us - all of us

Everyone belongs in the "us": culture alongside gender, disability, age, faith and more.

The two questions at the heart of the week
1
What cultures have shaped you?

Celebrate heritage, journeys, and the people who made space for you.

2
What will you build to help the next generation of culturally diverse professionals lead?

Look forward: to the policies, sponsorship and change that close the gap at the top.

The week at a glance
